I write what I want on this here site. Whether it makes ANY sense to those who read it or not, is NOT the point of this blog. These are my thoughts and thought processes at any particular juncture throughout the day, week, month, etc. I'm not looking for everyone OR anyone to agree with what I display, it just IS. They are mY thoughts. You don't appreciate the rhetoric - fall back.

Do you remember me? We met and shook hands at Church in Geneva Switzerland in 2002. I was about the only person who wasn’t that geeked on having you there. We took the obligatory smile and shake picture. Still don’t remember me? No biggie. However, can I just say you have THE weakest handshake for a man. I mean, when you’re at a meet and greet, one should assert themselves positively, argh!
Any-who, I’ve noticed that you just have a knack for saying some of the MOST innately stupid things at all the supposed wrong times. I don’t buy it. Are you sure you’re not on the McCain payroll?
Whatever happened to the 1985 Jesse Jackson and his movement to uplifting the African American race by any means? You can’t possibly be the same man. No way. (more…)
Here I was this moring minding my own business, listening to The Today show when Matt Lauer began to report about Don Imus and yet another controversy.
I’m so DONE talking about this antagonistic, sociopathic, old goat of a cowboy. Past behaviours can sometimes indicate future performances, who knows if this is the case.
Imus: What color is he?
Sidekick: He’s African American
Imus: Well, there you go. Now we know.
Am I an Imus fan? HELL NO!
Do I think he (like many) has racist tendencies? Hell Yes.
Do I believe his, I meant that he was being picked on because he’s black, back peddling, no -not really. It’s not a new enough schtick for me to really be all bent out of shape. We know his kind won’t see his comments any deeper than the surface . We know that no matter what, we’ll be seen as “over reacting” if we express “outrage” (misguided or not). It is what it is.
I never was for him being fired from that last CBS gig, but that’s just me. I happen to find D. Lee from B.E.T more of a villain and a threat to the black community than Imus ever could be. There just seems to be alot of ranting and raving over the firing of the wrong individual.
Today is World Refugee Day and I just wanted to take a moment and put that out there. When I was younger I swore I was going to be a Refugee Aid Worker (up until I realized that the pay isn’t quite what I was looking for) but it is a rewarding job nonthe less. I’ve had the pleasure to work for UNHCR in Geneva due to my family connection ( shout out to ML!!) and LOVED the experience.
This is a pic of the parlimentary zone & the J’Deau in Geneva, Switzerland, lit in blue to commemorate World Refugee Day
Speaking of WFD, I was watching the BBC World News this morning and there was a piece about the UN and it’s members voting to clasify Rape as a “war tactic”. For so long the women who have been considered the back bone to many socities have been treated as mere casualties of war. Never do people fully realize that these women and young girls are suffering the same as if not much more than the men who are fighting the war. Women have been used as a means to break down villages/communities by raping them infront of their children and husbands, sometimes even forcing family members to participate and this indeed should be seen as a war tactic/CRIME.
Put a fist in the air and lets remember that no matter how tideousand monotineous our lives can be, there is always those who have it a hell of alot worse.
I’m actually in tears for a man I didn’t know personally but through the last ten years he was an active part pf my daily life via Morning news. Tim Russert was THE best at what he did. Through his analysis and detailed disection of American Politics, Tim Russert inadvertently taught me another aspect of what to look for when trying to grapple with political issues. He was a hardass but he had a smile that could make you forget he was about to hand you your butt on a platter. Damn that man was good. God Bless his family and His soul. He will be missed.
Well this is the best judegement Fox News has shown in quite some time.
So you remember the entire “terrorist fist jab” debacle? Well the maniac anchor who made that statement, E.D. Hill, was justly relieved of duty from her show. Cheers to the one person with sense who made that decesion.
So earlier this week, FOX news in all their partisan, schizophrenic, low tier news reporting called Michelle Obama, “Obama’s Baby Mama”, as they were doing a report of the recent attacks against her. In other words, the commentator basically called Mrs. Obama whore. Lets face it, we all know that phrase “baby mama” is nothing nice nor was it meant to be used as a respectful yet harmless jab. To this I say where are the Hillary fem-bot supporters in all of their garish, woman power, we need to ban together movement? If this isn’t a sexist smear campaign then I don’t know what is.
Now begins the line of demarcation; being just a womanis something afforded to those who have just that one stigma to overthrow but as I’ve said before in this blog being a Black woman is what we’re seen as first. If in fact, these Clinton supporters feel that what I’m saying is a load of manuer, then where’s the outrage and uproar. Where’s gasbag Ferraro with her pre rehearsed sexism speill?
Now good ole useless Fox News has issued apologies; calling the biggoted faux pas - “use of Poor Judgement”. That’s what you people said about KKKramer when he called a random black man a N****r. Am I sensing a bigger issues here? hmmmm
