Like many, I’ve had things I wanted to get rid of and sold it on Craigslist.
However, I made sure I was meeting these strangers, would be killers, robbers, rapists - in PUBLIC places. Very busy, well lit, crowded as hell, public places.
Why when people go against the rules, the laws, the codes of common sense, the unwritten and written DO’s and DON’Ts, they then want to place blame elsewhere? Dude, really?
Do you see the blockhead below?

Well this dunderhead a.k.a Tom Morgan ( a Vassar Graduate who lives in the Village ) posted an ad on Craigslist seeking work as a Videographer. He got a call about working a bachelorette party in Boreum Hill and decided to take the job. Did I mention the fact that he did not set up an initial meeting with the client prior to the party? Instead he showed up at the address he was given, knocked on the apt door and was greeted by the actual resident of said apartment - who knew then let him know there was no such function there. So as he’s calling the client on his cell, two masked gun men come in wielding a gun, grab all his video gear, cell and wallet and take off.
Now he’s left to rent equipment which is dipping into the funds he was hoping to save.
Is it me or do people just loose their entire minds because they’re blinded by the almighty $$$. There’s poor judgement and then there’s block-headed moves.
Don’t blame Craigslist because you made shmucky decisions. They explicitly warn folks about every dangerous scenario that exists. Suck it up and meet in Starbucks like regular folks next time.
T.

Wow, that is pretty dodge. I haven’t ever met anyone offline from online, but I am pretty sure that I would have alarm bells ringing to meet someone publicly. That sucks that he got his shit stolen though.
