I know I haven’t posted any new stuff this week but I needed a break; need less to say I’ve got some catching up to do.
Being known for a variety of talents/attributes such as her voice, her body, her DIVA-like reputation and her relationship with HOVA, Mrs. Knowles - Carter has made her mark in today’s society. Wanting to branch-out and try new things she has but I think one should know when enough is enough. Although I’ve never personally purchased anything from her clothing line (s), I know a few people who have and they seem relatively happy with her jeans but wouldn’t dare buy much else.
It should be said that she and her camp should really grasp the concept that not every fashion concept should be translated for all.

I mean who in their right mind (other than giddy Texans high off the chronic on a dude ranch in Waco) would dress their child in this here sort of hee-haw donkey outfit? I really wanted to know which adult would wear this crap, until I remembered a woman in my office who has some similar pieces, Oops. But seriously, this is beyond all the gaudy, tacky, in poor taste kind of comments, this is just straight asinine. This is sick, these clothes look like the stuff Trannies wear when they’re now realizing their gender confusion. OMG!
Whatever happened to a nice little horse on the chest? Monogrammed initials?
Thing is, I can snap on Dereon Kids all I want but she’s not the only “design house” (I use that term to be nice) that inundates the isles with this garbage. For example, I was in Century 21 the other day and had such a hard time finding decent clothes for my brother. For a five year old he’s tall with broad shoulders (and a fresh mouth!!) so he’s now wearing a size 7, but to find clothes for him is becoming a headache.
When he was younger there were no shortages in clothing lines with great clothes: Sean John, Rocawear, Ralph Lauren ( his fav), etc. The selection was wide, prices were great but most importantly they were suitable and appropriate for a tyke. Now look at what I have to dig through in order to find gold:
Why must all the clothing made for these young children look like this? They’re not auditioning for a part in a Rick Ross or LOX video. Why must there be huge lettering scrawled all over these garments? I mean come on! You put this on a five year old and they will have that- I’m So HOOD swagger, very quickly. Not to mention those god awful leather bombers with the colorul stiching that etches out words or scenery. kill me NOW!
Please don’t give me that different strokes for different folks Bullsh*t either because this just makes no sense. And yes, there are pieces within all the lines I mentioned that are suitable, however, the searching that has to be done to attain said items is ridiculous!
Whatever happened to teaching these kids about wearing a suit and tie, how about that. Whatever happened to a well made Jacket, Slacks and a good pair of hard bottoms? I guess that “Button down” movement done moved on, huh.
I must say with great enthusiasm that the Sean John children’s line, has NEVER failed me and my bro, NEVER! I’ve indeed caught a glimpse as his few gaudy pieces but even still, this man knows just what structuring clothes for children is all about. Damn he’s good. Feel like I owe this man for saving my bro from retched fashion faux-pas’.
I guess until something gives, it’ll just be: IZOD, GUESS, SEAN JOHN, RALPH LAUREN and CALVIN KLEIN as our staple brands.

Yes, yes, yes…who puts their kids in these clothes? and i bet they are only sold in the hood parts of town. i am very disappointed that Beyonce would lower herself to sell such crap when she only wears the very best herself. Did she have an eye infection when she approved these designs? what about her momma? this shit just surpasses the level of tackyness. I don’t put my child in no damn designer clothes, because amongst the Rockawear, Babyphat, ecko red, Gunit and other bullshittery that is out there, i do not want my child walking around with anyone’s name or giant logo splashed around her cheast or ass.
Comment by R May 9, 2008 @ 6:09 pmSo we shall stick to good ol Old Navy, Gap, Aeropostale and such stores that carry decent clothes for a 14 year girl that won’t have her looking like slut of the year.
